Dunboyne AFC wish to promote the game of soccer and provide facilities to players of all ages. The club wants all players and supporters to enjoy the game, played in the right spirit of sportsmanship.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Dunboyne AFC was established in 1970 by local community sport enthusiasts. The club was one of the first soccer clubs established in the county of Meath and has a long history of fostering the game of soccer in the greater Dunboyne area. In recognition of this, the club won the FAI/Aviva Club of the Year 2009 as well as the UEFA Grassroots Bronze Medal Club of the Year 2010. The club is a focal point of the community and has a huge juvenile program and now has squads from Under 8 through to Senior (i.e. Adult Levels). The club has a playing membership of approx. 600 (Boys and Girls) aged 5 through to adult. We are affiliated primarily with the North Dublin School Boys League for under age schoolboy football and the Leinster Senior League for adult players.
In addition to this we have a girl’s academy and 6 girl’s teams competing in the Metropolitan Girls League. A new development this year is that we have also entered two under 19 teams in the LFL –Leinster Football League.
All of our officers and coaches are volunteers and all are trained, Garda vetted and are compliant to the relevant FAI guidelines. We have two child protection officers who are also a support to all our coaches and the committee.
Dunboyne AFC is committed to active lifelong participation in our club and to providing the best facilities. We reach out to and include all members of our society. We promote individual development and well-being and strive to enable all our members achieve their full potential in their chosen roles. Our vision is that everyone in the community of Dunboyne and surrounding areas has the opportunity to play football and grow and develop from a young age right through to Senior Level and to continue to be associated with the club even when their playing days are over and provide an established football club for the future generations.
On top of our organized Coaching and competitions, we run various social events throughout the year as part of our general fundraising and responsibility to our community.

COACHING
At Dunboyne AFC we aim to provide a high standard of coaching to all the children who play at the club. In order to do this, we aim to provide coaching training for all the managers involved, through the FAI’s coaching courses.

CLUB EVENTS & FUND-RAISERS
We have run numerous events over the years to foster the game, generate fun and add much-needed funds to run the club.
These events have historically included;
Kick a Thons, Mini World Cups, FAI Summer Camps, Medal Ceremonies, Fashion Show, Dinner Dances, Golf Classics, Pub Quizzes, and participation in St. Patricks Day Parades.
The pandemic obviously put a stop to these. With the vaccine rollout, however, we are optimistic we can start planning a number of events and make 2022 a year to really celebrate our 50th Anniversary of providing soccer to the community (now 51 years!)
VOLUNTEERS
The club wish to acknowledge with sincere thanks the considerable work that has been done and continues to be done by numerous people past and present over the years. We are reluctant to name names as so many people have contributed huge time and effort to make the club successful and achieve the facilities and membership we have today.
