Our grounds on the Summerhill Road comprise 12.5 acres and have 3 full size pitches, a 5-a-side pitch, a 7-a-side pitch, a 9 a-side pitch and a floodlit all-weather pitch.
In addition, we have club dressing rooms, including showers, for players and referees. We also have a large car
park, a club shop and various outbuildings for storage of equipment.
The consistent high standard of our pitches are the envy of many visiting clubs. We have received high praise from the leagues in which our teams play and from the FAI who in 2009 voted us Junior club of the year.
We were also awarded the UEFA Grass Roots Bronze Medal in 2010.
The club took great pride in welcoming a true sporting legend in November 2009 when the great Pele officially opened our grounds. This was a great honour for the club and reflected recognition by the FAI in acknowledging the club’s achievements in promoting soccer in the Meath area.
Each Saturday we hold a nursery session for approx. 40 children, both boys and girls, under the age of 8. Here we introduce them to the game of soccer in a fun and safe environment. There is no emphasis on competitive play at this level. Training consist of fun drills where the children learn the basic skills of the game such as ball control, kicking, defending and team work etc. The session lasts 90 mins and is run by two main coaches with lots of help from parents.By the time they move onto Under 8 level they show great growth in their skills and in their understanding of the game.
Dunboyne AFC field a number of teams, from Under 8 to Under 19, in the North Dublin School Boys League catering for children not only from the Dunboyne area but for also children from neighbouring parishes.

Ladies soccer is currently the fastest growing sport in the world and the club have received quite a lot of local interest from both parents and children in creating dedicated girls teams. We currently have 6 underage girls teams competing in the Metropolitan Girls League, Under 9’s, Under 11’s, Under 13’s (x2), Under 14’s and Under 16’s.
Dunboyne AFC has adopted the policy to never turn away a child who wants to play sport and will always try to cater for all children. We envisage the number of competitive teams in the club increasing over the coming years. We do not operate a trials system for players wishing to join the club but instead will try to accommodate all players at their respective level.
FAI Summer Camps
Dunboyne AFC hosted 3 FAI summer camps at our grounds in Summerhill Road in July & August, one of which was a girls only camp. These camps are run during the Summer holidays and last 1 week, where qualified FAI coaches teach the kids the skills of the game and organize fun games for the children. It is always very well supported with over 100 children, boys and girls, attending each camp and the kids all had a great time.
Dunboyne AFC currently field 3 senior men’s teams in the Leinster Senior League.
1st Team – Intermediate Senior 1B (Sunday)
2nd Team – Major 1B (Saturday)
3rd Team – Division 3A (Saturday)
The 1st Team play at Intermediate Level, rubbing shoulders with the big names in amateur soccer like Home Farm and Tolka Rovers and in 2015 qualified for the 1st round of the FAI Senior Cup.
The success of the senior teams can only be added to with the growth of the club at juvenile level.
